Our Story
Our Mission
Imagine a town where feelings of confidence, hope and self-worth spring up in the hearts of its residents! People are employed, small businesses are developing, and tourism is blossoming.
The Center for Christian Action is 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to make this vision a reality for the communities of Pocahontas, Boissevain and Abbs Valley... person by person, day by day.
Through efforts in providing emergency assistance, teaching employable skills, encouraging wellness and preventative health care - just by being there with a helping hand when needed, the Center encourages folks to take control of their lives and to bring about wholesome change.
Who We Are
Here at Center for Christian Action, we are driven by a single goal; to do our part in making the world a better place by serving others. We strive to provide Emergency Assistance for families in need of food, help with utilities, medicine, clothing. We have a Thrift Store and Food Bank. We take applications for home repairs for the elderly, disabled, and low income individuals and work with different church groups and Summer Work Camp Groups to provide services to get the much needed work done that they need. We try to provide clothing vouchers for children for school because every child deserves to start the school year with a new outfit! During the Christmas Season we provide food baskets for low income, Santa Claus visits to the elderly and home bound, and we have an Angel Tree.
